Michigan is a state full of blue-collar workers, farmers, small businesses owners, craftsmen, etc.

The Governor called for and signed into law an increase of the state’s minimum wage from $5.15 per hour to $7.40 per hour over the next two years, which will increase a minimum wage worker’s annual salary by $4,680 (Detroit Free Press, 10/1/06).
